Eli Manning’s amusing reason for not attending the Netflix event adds to the Tom Brady ‘roast’

The roast of Tom Brady will go down as one of the best sport-related entertainment events this year. The special organized by Netflix, dubbed to be the Greatest Roast of All Time, had some of the hottest celebrities and former teammates of the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback. Despite the star-studded roasting lineup, there was one man whose absence was felt dearly.

It was none other than Eli Manning, the man who has for the longest been considered to be Tom Brady’s kryptonite. His brother Peyton Manning was present at the event and roasted his former arch-rival but Eli could not make it. As fans began to raise questions over his absence, the former New York Giants QB decided to put an end to their speculation through a post on X.

I thought about attending the Roast of Tom Brady last night, but I did not want to Roast him for a 3rd time!! Eli Manning wrote on X

That’s it folks, Eli Manning has managed to roast Tom Brady remotely. His post was enough to have football fans hailing his response as being an all-time great response.

Tom Brady had plenty of jibes directed at him reminding him of his Super Bowl losses to Eli Manning through the night

Even though Eli Manning was not present physically, it did not stop other celebrities who took to roasting Brady to stick the fact that he lost to the Giants’ QB twice in the Super Bowl. To date, junior Manning has a 3-2 all-time record against Brady. In the Super Bowl, when winning matters the most, Eli Manning is 2-0 over Brady. Will Ferrell reminded Brady of his losing record to Manning when it was his turn to roast the QB.

The 2007-08 season was one that the New York Giants will never forget as a team that finished the year with a 10-6 record went on to win the Super Bowl against a New England Patriots team led by Brady that had gone 16-0 that year. To this day, it has to be one of the most shocking upsets in the football world.

The second Super Bowl win came in 2012, after Manning managed to cause yet another upset against Brady and the Patriots by winning Super Bowl XLVI 21-17. The former Giants QB may not make it into the NFL Hall of Fame, but he can proudly boast of beating the greatest QBs to ever play the game.

Manning has flexed beating Brady in the past as well, with his latest post, he just proved that he can cook Brady even after retirement and outside of football too.
