Julian Edelman reveals details from tense interaction between Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft before Tom Brady's roast
Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft did not appear to leave things on the best terms after a "mutual parting of ways" following 24 years together.

And that's because no one knows how "mutual" the decision for Belichick to leave as head coach of the New England Patriots was.

But the two were brought back together again on Sunday night at Netflix's Tom Brady Roast. And while they appeared to not show any bad blood while on stage together, there was one moment prior to the show that caught many of the former player's attention.

Randy Moss, Drew Bledsoe, Rob Gronkowski, and Julian Edelman were all speaking with Belichick in the Green Room prior to the show when Kraft walked in.

“They did break it down and got together for, I don’t know, probably 10 minutes at least,” Bledsoe said on Edelman's Games with Names podcast.

Edelman proceeded to provide some context on how the meeting went. While he didn't say much, it was enough.

"The tension in that room though," Edelman said. "Could cut (expletive) glass.”

“It was real… It was very real,” Bledsoe responded.

When Edelman saw Kraft walking over, he attempted to give his former head coach a heads up. But according to the Super Bowl MVP, Belichick didn't catch on.

Yet while they had this tense interaction, the two later took a shot together on the stage, celebrating their success.

Things will never be perfect, but this sure felt like closure.
